Three Great Treatments for Acne

If I could get a penny for the number of emails I get about acne I would be billionaire! Acne is one of the most common annoying skin conditions.

Where I’m based in Manchester there are so many young men and women with acne problems who come and see me and email me. It’s a good thing I am also an acne doctor!

Here are 3 natural remedies that I have told my patients about…

1. Apple Cider Vinegar – WOW, this beauty should be a firm favourite for anyone wanting to get rid of acne. It is a machine when it comes to getting rid of the horrible bacteria that causes the Acne in the first place, AND will keep your skin a little drier due to the mopping effect of the vinegar. You have to be careful not to apply too much, so test a little patch and dilute it first with half ratios and see how it goes. If it’s not doing much (probably due to excessive oily skin) then try a little more. Apple cider vinegar is also alkaline when used on your skin averaging out the PH levels and shouldn’t be stinging! If it is, you may have another skin condition.
METHOD: TRY 1 PART VINEGAR AND 3 PARTS WATER FIRST AND USE COTTON BALLS/WOOL TO DAB.
Leave for 10 mins and wash.

2. Milk and Honey – Milk is one of the most versatile beauty products that is available on earth! It is very soothing and is also reduces and redness from the spots you may be getting.
METHOD – 1 PART MILK and 1 PART HONEY (amounts dependent on how much you want to use).
Apply as a mask for 20 minutes and then wash.

3. Tea Tree Oil – Add more oil to my skin Nyla?? Are you mad? Well, tea tree oil is a wonderful solvent-y type oil that actually CLEANS up the pores AND kills bacteria! DOUBLE WHAMMY! Be careful not to eat the stuff! Just for external use. You should dilute this before use and you can mix it with another gel such as Aloe or other soft vegetable based gels.
METHOD – 1 PART OIL to 10 PARTS WATER – DILUTE IT!

So there you have it people, my three recommendations for acne. If that doesn’t work I highly recommend coming down and having an appointment with me to discuss options.
