Anti-Wrinkle Injections

With our anti-wrinkle injections, age doesn’t have to be ageing.

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if our faces never aged, and we stayed wrinkle-free? Wouldn’t it be great if lines, blemishes and crow’s feet never formed, and no matter how much we smiled, laughed, cried and creased up? Our anti-wrinkle injections are a quick, safe and effective way to reduce the effects of skin ageing, while also preventing new lines and wrinkles from forming. Infused with purified proteins, they work by blocking nerve signals in muscles, when injected into specific areas of the face. This temporarily freezes the muscle, reducing the effects of facial movement. The treatment only takes 15 minutes, and with results noticeable within 2 weeks, your face will have never looked better! Due to Doctor Nyla’s precision and the incredible results she provides our clients with – we have clients visiting us from cities and towns as varied as Didsbury, Manchester, Birmingham, Liverpool, Hale, Knutsford and Sale for all of their anti-wrinkle treatments.

Treating everything from frown lines, crow’s feet and bunny lines to neck lines, marionette lines, nasal lines and eye wrinkles, our anti-wrinkle injections reverse the ageing process by getting to the root cause of the issue, and stopping skin ageing in its tracks.

Unlike other forms of facial rejuvenation treatments such as the non-invasive facelift, anti-wrinkle injections are considerably safer, and Doctor Nyla and her team have performed over 65,000+ treatments to date. Traditional surgical facelifts are highly invasive, requiring the patient to undergo general anaesthesia, with significant downtime required as swelling and bruising is much more pronounced than with anti-wrinkle injections.

With our non-surgical treatments, you can get back to work and your daily activities as soon as possible, and look more fabulous doing it. You never have to let your age show again with our anti-wrinkle injections available in Liverpool, Birmingham, London, Alderley Edge & Wilmslow, Cheshire. Book your consultation today and let’s boost your beauty in every possible way!

What Are Anti-Wrinkle Injections?

what is this treatment image

Anti-wrinkle injections, also known as ‘Botox®’, or botulinum toxin, are naturally-occurring proteins that work to block nerve signals at the injection point. As signals from the nerves to the muscles in the face are stopped, the injected muscle will no longer be able to contract as tightly, causing wrinkles to relax and soften. Perfect for the forehead lines, frown lines, crow’s feet, bunny lines and the chin, as well as smoker’s lines and skin ageing of the neck, anti-wrinkle injections can take years off of your face, enhancing your natural beauty.

Injected using a fine needle into specific muscles, the procedure takes approximately 15 minutes, with only minimal discomfort, if any at all. After administering Botox® for over 18 years and having performed over 65,000 procedures, our team are highly skilled in administering Botox® treatments, and consistently create amazing results that are natural-looking and subtle, yet still give you a beautiful boost.

One of the most popular cosmetic treatments for clients’ of all ages and skin types, Botox® can restore your skin and give you back the confidence you may have lost due to the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and crow’s feet.

Botox® treatment remains one of the most affordable, fastest working safe and effective non-surgical, anti-ageing treatments available. All of our clinics in Liverpool, Cheshire, Birmingham and London administer Botox® anti-wrinkle injection treatments, and all of our anti-wrinkle injections treatments are performed only by the most experienced doctors and nurses, as patients safety is of paramount importance to Doctor Nyla and her team.

Our Process

To Doctor Nyla, client safety is the most important aspect of any treatment, and therefore every possible situation and outcome is taken into consideration. She wants everyone to feel young and beautiful, but not at the expense of their health. Therefore, should you be taking any medication, have experienced issues with botulinum toxin before, are pregnant or breastfeeding, you must inform us of this. Dependent on your situation, we’ll recommend alternate treatments that will still garner outstanding results.

We’ll firstly invite you in for a complimentary consultation with Doctor Nyla to discuss the areas that you would like to be corrected, and your reasons for doing so. We’ll then go into detail about what the treatment involves, and ask you to detail your medical history.

If you decide that anti-wrinkle injections are right for you, we’ll then apply an optional numbing cream to reduce any discomfort that you may experience during treatment, and then disinfect your skin for hygiene purposes.

Doctor Nyla will then use her specially-developed technique to administer a controlled amount of anti-wrinkle injection into the treatment area using a small needle. This amount will have been agreed with you beforehand, and we’ll make recommendations based on the results that you are trying to achieve.

Your session will take no longer than 15 minutes, with results noticeable within 2 weeks.
Depending on the client, the effects will last approximately 3-6 months, after which time you may want to revisit us for a top up treatment. In fact, the more treatments you have, the greater the overall results will be in the long term.

“After years of being conscious of my frown lines I finally found the perfect person to fix them. I went to Doctor Nyla for my anti-wrinkle injection treatment and couldn’t be happier with the results.” – Charlotte Metcalfe MUA

How long does it take to have anti-wrinkle injections?

Depending on the number of areas being treated in each session, an anti-wrinkle injection appointment can be completed in as little as 15 minutes, making it the perfect lunchtime treatment.

How long do anti-wrinkle injections last?

Anti-wrinkle injections last for three to six months depending on the client, with top up treatments available should you wish.

What will the treatment involve?

During anti-wrinkle injection treatment, Doctor Nyla will use her specially developed technique to administer a controlled amount of Botulinum Toxin® into the patient using a fine needle. An optional numbing cream is available should you need it, but the procedure is relatively pain-free, and many of our clients choose to have treatment free of anaesthetic.

When will I see the results of anti-wrinkle injections?

Results are noticeable within a few days, with optimum results becoming apparent at around 2 weeks post-treatment. The treatment can last up to 6 months, after which time a top-up treatment may be required.

How long is recovery time?

There is no downtime with anti-wrinkle injections, although patients may be advised to stop taking medications such as aspirin prior to the appointment to minimise chances of bruising.

What is the best age to start anti-wrinkle injections?

The best time to consider having anti-wrinkle injections is when you begin to notice that your dynamic lines (these are the wrinkles that only appear through expression) appear regardless of expression and form even when static. However, it differs from person to person, dependent on genetic and lifestyle factors such as sun exposure, stress, cigarette smoking, and other environmental factors. Botox® works best at this stage, rather than with deeply etched lines, which are more difficult to smooth out.

The longer you wait, the more invasive the treatments for wrinkles become – for example, dermal fillers are used when anti-wrinkle injections will not suffice. Anti-wrinkle injections can also be used to reduce the appearance of current wrinkles.

What areas can you treat with anti-wrinkle injections?

Anti-wrinkle injections can be used to treat areas such as:

Frown lines - Forehead lines resulting from gathering of tissue between the eyebrows or fold, and caused by squinting and frowning.

Crow’s Feet - Fine lines that form around the eyes, typically caused by sun exposure and smoking.

Bunny Lines - Fine wrinkles that appear when you scrunch up your nose, such as when you smile or laugh.

Necklines - Necklines including horizontal 'necklace lines' and vertical 'platysmal bands' (Nefertiti Neck Lift) can be caused by everything from genetics and ageing to spending too much time looking down (i.e. at your phone).

Marionette Lines: Creases or folds that start at the outer corners of the mouth and run down to the outside edges of the chin. Marionette lines can be caused by various factors, including bone structure, skin type and the amount of fat and collagen in your face.

Anti-wrinkle injections can also be used to treat medical conditions such as migraines, excessive sweating and facial flushing.

How can anti-wrinkle injections treat migraines?

Anti-wrinkle injections can stop migraines before they even start, with treatments recommended every twelve weeks for maximum effect. This treatment works by blocking the release of the neurotransmitters that are associated with pain, meaning that you no longer have to experience the severe pain of a migraine.

How can anti-wrinkle injections treat excessive sweating?

Anti-wrinkle injections can help with excessive sweating by blocking the signals that the body sends to stimulate sweat glands. It is injected into the skin, and the effects last for 3-6 months.

How can anti-wrinkle injections treat facial flushing?

Anti-wrinkle injections can treat blushing of the face, neck and chest by blocking the signals between nerve cells that reach the skin and blood vessels. For those who suffer from anxiety and are embarrassed by their blushing, anti-wrinkle injections can bring back confidence and significantly improve quality of life by removing this concern altogether.

How can anti-wrinkle injections treat a gummy smile?

Some people are self-conscious about the amount of tooth and gum that is revealed when they smile. Anti-wrinkle injections can be used to minimise this by relaxing the muscle above the upper lip, thereby preventing it from lifting as high.

What is the Nefertiti Neck Lift?

Anti-wrinkle injections can treat horizontal 'necklace lines' and vertical 'platysmal bands' in the neck with a treatment known as the Nefertiti Neck Lift, restoring a tighter and youthful appearance of the skin on the neck.

What are the recommendations prior to the injection?

- Tell your Doctor if you are suffering from any illness and inform them if you are taking any medication. These may affect treatment with anti-wrinkle injections.
- To avoid bruising do not take aspirin or anti-inflammatories prior to treatment.
- Tell your doctor if your are pregnant or breastfeeding.
- Tell your doctor if you have had any problems in the past with previous injections botulinum toxin or with injections in general.
- Tell your Doctor if you have any inflammation in the muscles or skin where your Doctor plans to inject.
- Tell your Doctor if you have had any problems swallowing.
- Tell your Doctor if you have had any surgery that may affect the area to be injected or if you have any pending operations.

How is the treatment administered?

Anti-wrinkle injections come in the form of a vial, which contains botulinum toxin in powder form. Your Doctor will dilute this powder by adding saline solution.

Once reconstituted, your Doctor will draw up the necessary amount using the syringe. After disinfecting your skin (and marking the injections sites) your Doctor will inject the treatment at several points, directly into the muscles.

What are the side effects?

As with any medicine, anti-wrinkle injections may cause side effects for some patients. Side effects usually occur within the first few days of injection and are temporary. The most common side effects are headaches, drooping of the eyelids, skin redness, local muscle weakness and facial pain.

Other side effects may be associated with the injection (bruising, redness, pain, burning, stinging, swelling). Adverse reactions possibly related to the spread of toxin from the treatment site have been reported very rarely with botulinum toxin.

What should I do after the treatment?

Be certain to adhere to the following post-treatment instructions:

CLEAN - Use a gentle cleanser and warm (not hot!) water only to cleanse the face for around 72 hours after treatment and gently dry the treated skin by patting the skin with a soft towel, instead of rubbing the skin. Always make sure that your hands are clean when touching the treated area.

HEAL - Antioxidant serums are recommended post-treatment as they can help to heal the treatment area, by smoothing the skin and reducing irritation.

HYDRATE - Following your treatment, your skin may feel drier than normal. Hyaluronic Acid is an ideal ingredient to hydrate, balance and restore the skin.

MAKEUP - It is recommended that makeup should not be applied for 24 hours after the procedure. Do not apply any makeup with a makeup brush, especially if it is not clean.

What should I avoid after having anti-wrinkle injections?

To ensure the proper healing environment, be certain to observe the following:

- For at least three days post-treatment = do NOT use any products containing Alpha Hydroxy Acids, Beta Hydroxy Acids, Retinol (Vitamin A), Vitamin C (in a low pH formula) or anything other 'active' skincare.
- Avoid intentional and direct sunlight for 24 hours. Do not use tanning beds.
- Do not go swimming for at least 24 hours post-treatment.
- No exercising or strenuous activity for the first 24 hours post-treatment.
- No excessive alcohol consumption on the day of the treatment.
- Do not lie face down following the treatment.
- Do not use ibuprofen following the treatment for 2 weeks.

Am I Suitable For Botox®?

Botox® can be used for treating wrinkles in men and women, although there are some restrictions on who is suitable. The treatment should not be used on people with an infection at the proposed injection site, people who have previously had allergic reactions to Botox®, women who are pregnant and breastfeeding and people with muscle problems or chronic diseases that affect the muscles, such as Eaton Lambert syndrome.

Individuals taking Aspirin, anti-inflammatories and herbal remedies such as Gingiko Bilboa, St John’s Wort and Vitamin E should also be cautious with Botox®, as should those with chronic breathing difficulties.

Is Botox® Safe?

When administered by a professional such as Doctor Nyla and her medical team, Botox® is a completely safe treatment.

What Should You Tell Us Prior To Your Botox® Treatment?

If you are suffering from any illness and taking any related medication. If you’re taking aspirin or anti-inflammatories this could affect your suitability for treatment, as bruising is more common when treatment is carried out in conjunction with these medications.

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

If you’ve experienced any problems with Botox® in the past, or with injections in general.

If you have any inflammation in the muscles or skin where you’d like us to inject.

If you had ever had problems swallowing.

If you’ve ever had any surgery that may affect the area you’d like us to inject, or if you have any pending operations.

What Happens During A Botox® Session?

During an anti-wrinkle injection treatment, Doctor Nyla will use her specially-developed technique to administer a controlled amount of Botox® into the targeted area using a small needle. To reduce any discomfort, an optional numbing cream is available, but the majority of our clients feel no pain whatsoever.

Does Botox® Hurt?

Botox® injections are relatively painless, and therefore do not hurt. They don’t require anaesthesia, and therefore you can go about your daily activities post-treatment too.

Are There Any Side Effects Of Using Botox®?

In our experience, any side effects that occur only last a few days and then naturally subside. Common side effects include mild swelling, redness, muscle weakness and headache. Other side effects include bruising, burning, stinging and more severe swelling, though these are rare.

Once administered, Botox® typically leaves the body within 3-4 days, although it is important to seek advice from a qualified professional should you suffer any adverse effects.

How Soon Can I Return To Normal Activities Following A Botox® Treatment?

You can return to normal activities straight away, with only a few exceptions, as no downtime is required.

How Many Botox® Sessions Will I Need?

All you need is one treatment to see brilliant results from Botox®, although treatment can be repeated at 3-month intervals if required.

Will I Still Have Expression In My Face?

Botox® is designed to smooth out wrinkles in the forehead and around the eyes, and therefore does not affect your facial expression. You can still smile and laugh with ease.
