Tear trough fillers are a subtle way to erase the look of hollows that appear beneath the eyes. Tear troughs can appear as a result of the ageing process, and are often accompanied by dark circles and eyebags – conditions that many men and women have difficulty with at some point as they get older. They develop through the thinning of the skin and the loss of density in the underlying facial structure, giving the eyes a tired look.

Dermal fillers are an ideal treatment for tear troughs as they work by adding volume from beneath the skin. Our process begins with a thorough consultation that enables Doctor Nyla and her team to assess your concerns and understand what you expect from treatment. From this, we can put together a bespoke treatment plan and give you recommendations based on your unique facial structure.

The tear trough area will require a soft and smooth dermal filler to be applied, so that the eyes can remain expressive. The treatment is administered in small amounts via specifically placed injections, and using a very fine needle. The filler produces an instant result that works to fill in the hollows beneath the eye; creating a subtle rejuvenation of the eye area. The skin looks fuller and smoother, dark circles and eye bags are erased and a youthful appearance is restored.

Tear trough fillers may be suitable for those who are affected by the tired look of hollows beneath the eyes, which can also be accompanied by dark circles and / or eye bags.

A naturally, youthful and refreshed look can be achieved through the expertise of Doctor Nyla and her team who will put together a bespoke treatment plan that addresses your individual needs and provides the best possible outcome.

At Medispa Cheshire, Doctor Nyla uses Hyaluronic Acid fillers for this treatment. They are FDA approved and are safe to use around the delicate area of the eyes. As a biodegradable product, HA dermal fillers are used to treat many concerns on the face. Their results help to create a subtle rejuvenation or enhancement of the features, which smoothes and lifts the skin.

A topical numbing cream can be applied to the treatment area, prior to administration. This will help to minimise any discomfort that the procedure may cause, as the eye area can be sensitive.

Mild to moderate swelling and redness can be expected, following this treatment. After effects are usually temporary and will have disappeared after a few days. Other complications will be discussed at the consultation, along with any advice that can help, should any side effects cause discomfort.

In the 6 hours that follow the procedure you should be careful not to touch the area, or apply any unnecessary pressure. You should not expose the treated area to extreme temperatures of heat or cold and applying make-up should wait for around 24 hours.
