Before and After: 8 Point Facelift

*Disclaimer: Results and patient experience may vary. These are dependent on a number of factors such as age, medical history and lifestyle.

How does an 8 point facelift work?

This treatment is used to restore volume in eight strategic areas, giving lift and support using a small volume of dermal fillers without discomfort or downtime.

The treatment uses both dermal fillers and anti-wrinkle injections (BOTOX), applied at specific points to help lift and smooth the complexion. Adding volume to the superficial layers of the skin helps to restore a firm and full appearance that also redefines the features’ youthful look. When teamed with anti-wrinkle injections – applied directly into the muscles of the concerning area – creases and folds can fade, maintaining the skin’s smooth surface.

What our customers say

What is an 8 point facelift?

The 8 point facelift takes a whole-face approach to achieve a fresh and rejuvenated appearance.

1 & 2. Cheek Bones/Facial Structure: A small amount of volume in the area enhances the cheekbones and often aids to lift the Nasolabial folds.

3. Tear Trough/Mid-face: Reduces the appearance of tired hollows under the eye area. If you have noticed significant hollows you may need additional product with a softer, more flexible dermal filler to help with this. Ask your practitioner if this additional treatment is right for you.

4. Nasolabial fold adjacent to nose: This area often droops or sags with age, so adding volume here can give you a more youthful appearance. Some people have nasolabial folds naturally, while in others they appear due to ageing. Dermal fillers can be a benefit to the patient by filling this area.

5. Mouth Corners: The down turning of the mouth with age gives the appearance of a ‘Down Frown’ that can cause the patients to look sad and aged. Creating some support with dermal fillers can not only lift the face but make patients look happier too!

6. Prejowl area: Loss of volume in the Jaw, Cheek and Chin areas can all contribute to jowl formation, so replacing volume in the hollow along the jawline, along with the other areas of the 8 point lift, can help to reduce or improve jowls.

7. Jawline: As we age, we lose the squareness or angle of the jaw. This treatment helps to lift and support the lower face as the lower face starts to fall forward, contributing to jowls and sagging. A subtle enhancement of the angle of the jaw can help lift the treated areas. If you have significant loss of volume in this area you may require more product and different techniques to get the best results.

8. Lower cheek/Buccal area: Hollowing of the Buccal area can contribute to the ‘accordion’ smile lines and can make patients look older and more gaunt. Treating this area with filler can help with and improve the natural curve and structure of the cheek.

Your Questions Answered.

Dr Nyla answers the most common 8 point facelift questions.

As a person experiences the effects of ageing, a variety of noticeable changes can occur, including: forehead lines, frown lines, sagging skin, crow’s feet, eyebags, tear troughs, flattened cheeks, nasolabial folds, marionette lines, a downturned mouth and jowls. These conditions are often the result of lost collagen and elastin from the skin’s structure that leads to a decrease in the skin’s volume, hydration and elasticity. As the skin wrinkles and starts to sag, the natural contouring of the features changes and the appearance starts to look tired and droopy. A full consultation with one of our specialists can recommend if the Cheshire 8 point face lift can give you the plump and lifted look you desire.

Dermal fillers and anti-wrinkle injections, containing botulinum toxin, have been effectively used by many aesthetics clinics for a number of years. Their results have been both safely and successfully executed providing outcomes that meet the needs of the patient. The success of their application is often due to the skill and precision of a properly trained and qualified practitioner, who understands the way in which these treatments work with the structure of the face, skin and underlying tissues.

In some cases a patient can experience some temporary discomfort as the treatment is being administered. For your comfort, Doctor Nyla’s clinics will always ensure that you are offered the application of topical cream. This will help to numb the face before the treatment is administered. Immediately following the procedure, the skin may feel slightly sensitive which will (along with any minor redness and swelling) will usually have subsided within 24 hours.

Most patients find that redness, swelling and slight bruising follows the procedure. These effects have often faded within 1 – 2 days, using make-up to conceal any bruising. More serious complications are rare and will be fully explained to you during your pre-treatment consultation. It is always important to ensure you discuss your medical history and risk of allergic reaction with your practitioner, beforehand to reduce the chance of developing an adverse reaction.

In the first 6 hours, following the treatment you should avoid touching the treated area and ensure you keep it dry. You will need to be careful not to expose the face to extremes of heat and cold. Before you can experience the full effects of the treatment, you will need to allow for any redness and swelling to ease. The results can often last for up to 12 months, depending on your skin’s own response to the products, when your practitioner can advise on the best long-term plan for you and your needs.

Most people are in and out of the clinic with minimal or no recovery time at all after the procedure. It is recommended not to do any strenuous exercise, go to a spa/sauna or drink alcohol for the first 24-48 hours post-treatment.
