How to get rid of a saggy neck

If you are over the age of 40, you may already be wondering how to get rid of your saggy neck. The truth is that necks age much faster than the rest of the body. It is also true that necks seem to be an overlooked part of the body when it comes to our beauty regime.

We all got the memo about protecting our faces from the sun, controlling our weight through diet and exercise, and dealing with greying hair. Still, somehow, we neglect that bit between our head and body until it begins to show unmistakable signs of deterioration.

No need to panic. Dr Nyla has a range of fantastic treatments to restore your neck’s youthful contours and make your skin beautiful again.

Why does the neck age so quickly?

The skin of the neck is thinner and more fragile than the skin of your face, and prone to dehydration. The skin around your eyes is similar, but you probably lavish that area with much more TLC.

Your neck also gets a lot of wear and tear. Every time you turn your head or stretch your neck, you affect the skin. As you get older, your skin’s elasticity diminishes, and it can no longer spring back into position as it did when you were younger.

The skin becomes slack and creased, wrinkles appear, and the lack of tone can allow fat to protrude forwards, causing that unwelcome fat pad to appear under your chin.

Lifestyle also plays a part. Sun exposure, alcohol and smoking are harmful to the skin, and they will undoubtedly impact the delicate skin of your neck.

Which treatments can get rid of a saggy neck?

Dr Nyla uses a variety of treatments to address this issue.

Excilis Excel, INTRAcel, Mesotherapy, Ultraformer 3 Skin Tightening and Nu Era Tight all use innovative technology to encourage the increased production of those skin saviours, collagen and elastin.

Ultraformer 3 Skin Tightening uses High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) to make the collagen fibres contract and tighten, providing a more robust support structure for your skin tissues and giving a more lifted, smoother appearance. The treatment also stimulates the production of more collagen and offers long-lasting results.

Exilis Elite and Nu Era Tight both use radiofrequency waves. The waves turn to warmth in the skin and promote collagen production. These innovative dual-action treatments also focus radiofrequency waves on the fat cells under the skin, blitzing them into smaller clusters that can be flushed away by the body. Both therapies effectively deal with the pad of fat that often appears under the chin.

INTRAcel therapy combines radiofrequency waves with microneedling, another powerful way to promote collagen production. During microneedling sessions, ultrafine needles pierce the skin encouraging the skin to believe it needs to start a healing response. The skin floods the area with collagen and other factors to create new tissues giving the skin a huge boost. INTRAcel is so effective at rejuvenating the skin that some clients think of it as a non-surgical facelift.

Mesotherapy also uses the microneedling technique but with a twist. As the ultrafine needles penetrate the skin, the tissues are flooded with highly nourishing and hydrating solutions restoring your youthful glow.
