What is Ultherapy?
Ultherapy is a non-invasive treatment that lifts and firms the skin using ultrasound technology. It is the only FDA-approved skin-tightening treatment available.
Ultherapy creates a rejuvenating effect by tightening the skin and increasing the production of collagen and elastin, the proteins that keep your skin firm and smooth. The production rate of these skin saviours begins to decline as early as the twenties, but Dr Nyla can turn back time using Ultherapy.
Dr Nyla uses Ultherapy to transform the appearance of her clients, restoring youthful contours and definition to the face and body.
Immediate results can be seen after one treatment. It is no surprise that this is a favourite treatment of time-poor media celebrities who need beauty treatments that are hard-working and reliably effective.
What happens during ultrasound treatment?
Ultherapy uses high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU), which gives the practitioner a clear view of the lower layers of your skin. The ultrasound energy is directed at the deepest layer of tissue in the problem areas.
The ultrasound energy warms the tissues. The upper level of the skin contracts creating a lifted skin effect. Cells in the deeper tissue layer produce more collagen and elastin, which plumps the skin, making it look tauter and smoother.
Where can this treatment be used?
Dr Nyla uses Ultherapy wherever lax skin needs firming and lifting.
The face
Lines and wrinkles are more numerous on the face than elsewhere because we move our faces so much.
Laughing, crying, squinting at our phones, and all the other facial muscle contractions we make daily take their toll as we age. The neck and decolletage are affected in the same way. The underlying lack of collagen and elastin prevents your skin from regaining its original shape resulting in lines and wrinkles plus loss of fullness and definition.
Clients from Hale love the rejuvenating effect of Ultherapy on the chin, jawline, eye, brow area and decolletage. Your skin will look lifted, and the youthful contours of your face and neck will be restored.
The body
Many of Dr Nyla’s clients come to the clinic because they are unhappy with the skin texture on their bodies, particularly on their upper arms and inner thighs. Reduced collagen and elastin can make the skin on the body lax and crepey, but Dr Nyla can make it smooth and more contoured again using Ultherapy.
When will I see the results of the treatment?
There may be an improvement in your skin after the first treatment. However, the full lifting and firming benefits will develop over three to six months as the collagen production rate increases.
How long will the benefits last?
With a good diet and exercise, the benefits will last a year or more. Please remember that your skin will continue to age, and you may wish to have further treatment.
Is Ultherapy painful?
The treatment is not painful, but some clients report mild discomfort. You may be aware of the treatment process, as tingling sensations can be caused as the skin tightens and your lower tissues are warmed. Pain relief is always available if required.
Will I need time to recover after the treatment?
You can resume your normal activities straightaway after an Ultherapy session. The procedure sometimes causes slight swelling or bruising, but this will soon subside.
