About Silhouette Soft Thread Lifting
-
What is Silhouette Soft Thread Lifting?
-
Silhouette Soft Thread Lifting is an innovative 30-minute treatment that offers the chance to turn back the clock and benefit from effects such as: redefined facial features, restored and increased volume and a reduction in lines and wrinkles.
This treatment can also be used to better contour facial features and to increase the skin’s firmness, as well as to bring enhanced definition to the cheeks and cheekbones giving a more full and youthful look.
-
How Do 'Threads' Work?
-
This treatment involves suturing or stitching sagging skin on the face with absorbable sutures. This works to regenerate collagen in the areas where it is carried out.
A local anaesthetic will be needed first and then a suture will be inserted under the skin about 3-5 millimetres in depth. The suture is then held in place with absorbable cones oriented in opposite directions.
The doctor will then perform a slight compression of the tissues to reshape by hand and achieve the best lifting effect possible.

-
Is thread lift treatment safe?
-
Yes. The natural substance of the product is Polylactic acid and has been used for a number of years in the pharmaceutical and medical professions.
It’s biocompatible, fully absorbable and provided it’s administered by a qualified and experienced medic, it’s a safe anti-ageing treatment.
-
Does it hurt?
-
Due to the invasive nature of the treatment, you may experience tenderness and mild swelling post treatment.
We will endeavour to make the treatment as comfortable as possible by way of using numbing agents to help dispel any discomfort.
-
Are there any side effects or risks?
-
This treatment should only be carried out by a highly skilled professional, like Dr Nyla and her medic-led team.
If the threads are pulled too tight then some people notice dimpling or puckering of the skin post procedure, and in extreme circumstances facial asymmetry may be a result.
-
Is there any aftercare to consider?
-
You may experience some discomfort in the first two days after the procedure, although this will gradually subside. We will discuss a full aftercare plan on the day of your treatment but would recommend that you try keeping your head elevated for around 7 days.
Post treatment, you should avoid pulling or stretching your facial skin, and should not massage, scrub or exfoliate the skin for at least three weeks. You should also avoid washing the area for at least 12 hours.
