Everyone wants to look radiant and clear-skinned, but sometimes the effects of ageing, changing hormones, sun exposure and pollution can make us feel that we are fighting a losing battle! Maintaining healthy skin requires a careful balance of preventative care and maintenance with effective treatments.

One of the weapons in Dr Nyla Raja’s arsenal at her London clinic is the Obagi treatment range of skincare products. Obagi has been researching and developing skin products for over 30 years and was one of the first ranges to address the individual needs of different skin types according to the Fitzpatrick Scale

The Obagi Blue Peel treatment uses Trichloroacetic Acid (TCA) to remove dead skin cells and promote the production of new cells. This therapy benefits various skin issues, including skin laxity, wrinkles, comedones, enlarged pores, and mild to moderate photo-ageing.

The application procedure takes around 20 minutes, during which you may feel a slight burning sensation. There will be a small amount of swelling initially, and then after 2 to 3 days, your skin will begin to peel as the old dead skin cells are discarded. TCA is slow-acting, meaning that it is gentler than many other procedures. The peeling may last for around a week to ten days, after which your beautiful fresh skin will be revealed!

Your skin will be more radiant and even in tone after one treatment, but Obagi recommends three treatments for optimum results. The Obagi Blue Peel is justifiably popular at all Dr. Raja’s clinics and you can see some of the results of the treatment and find out how to book here

Dr Nyla is a qualified doctor which means she is authorised to prescribe Obagi skincare for clients to use at home after clinic treatments. Her training enables her to tailor the strength and dosage of the active ingredients in the skincare for each client. Importantly, she can be sure that the products used at home complement the treatments received at the clinic.

Dr Nyla recommends three Obagi Skin Care Systems to her clients, each addressing a different skin issue.
