What are dermal fillers?
Dermal fillers are an injectable beauty treatment. They restore volume to faces that have lost their fullness with age or correct imperfections in the features.
The filler itself is a gel that contains high levels of hyaluronic acid. This natural substance exists in the body and is a highly effective carrier of fluid to the tissues, so fillers give your skin a powerful hydration boost.
How does Dr Nyla use dermal fillers?
Dr Nyla uses fillers to tackle the following beauty concerns.
The signs of ageing
Collagen keeps young skin firm and smooth, but as we age, the rate of collagen production declines, causing the skin to sag and develop lines and wrinkles. You may notice this on your face, neck and decolletage.
Dr Nyla carefully injects dermal fillers into the areas affected, providing support to the lower layers of your skin, restoring structure and fullness to your face, and rejuvenating your appearance. Wrinkles and lines are smoothed, and their depth is reduced.
The hydrating qualities of the filler also give moisture and a fresh radiance to your skin.
Dr Nyla’s clients love the ‘8-point lift’, an exciting new treatment that takes a holistic approach, addressing the ageing of your face as a whole and providing a lifted and more youthful appearance without surgery.
To achieve this, Dr Nyla injects small amounts of dermal filler at eight strategic points on the face.
Thin Lips
The lack of collagen in mature skin can reduce the volume of the lips. Dr Nyla can create a fuller and more youthful shape with dermal fillers.
Fillers can also be used to correct any irregularities in the shape and size of the lips.
Tear troughs
Over time, the increase in skin laxity can create hollows, or tear troughs, under the eyes as the skin sags. This volume loss often casts dark shadows, making you look tired.
Dr Nyla uses dermal fillers to reduce the hollow effect and banish shadows.
Undefined cheeks
Elegant cheekbones are a beauty ambition for many, but few are born with them.
Dr Nyla uses dermal fillers to create the illusion of defined cheekbones, subtly changing the shape of your face.
Bumps on the nose
Until recently, the shape of the nose could only be improved through invasive surgery, but now liquid rhinoplasty is available.
Dermal fillers subtly improve the shape of the nose, reducing the appearance of bumps and making your nose fit in better with the rest of your features.
Acne Scars
Acne often leaves areas of small scars with a pitted appearance. Dermal fillers are an excellent way to improve the appearance of skin affected by acne and other small scars.

How long does the procedure take?
The length of the treatment depends on how many areas are being treated but typically, it will last about 30 minutes.
The amount of filler required will be discussed at your initial consultation with Dr Nyla.
Is it painful to have dermal fillers?
Some clients find the injection of the fillers uncomfortable, however, Dr Nyla and her team will ensure you are as comfortable as possible by using anaesthetic creams to numb the skin. The premium brand gels that Dr Nyla uses also have anaesthetic properties.
The injection sites may be a little tender for a few hours, but this will quickly disappear.
How long will my fillers last?
Your fillers will gradually dissolve and be absorbed into your body. Most clients find that they are ready for a top-up treatment after six months.
