What is Coolsculpting?
Coolsculpting is a premium brand fat-freezing treatment. It is the only FDA-cleared fat-freezing treatment which means that it is proven to be safe and effective and it has transformed the bodies of millions of delighted customers worldwide.
Coolsculpting is a non-invasive treatment with minimal downtime that doesn’t involve surgery or needles.
How does fat freezing eliminate stubborn fat without surgery?
Coolsculpting and other fat-freezing treatments take advantage of the fact that fat cells die when they are exposed to very low temperatures.
Coolsculpting uses controlled cooling of the fat cells to kill them.
The treatment can address very specific areas allowing Dr Nyla to contour your body and produce a slimmer, smoother silhouette. She can also reduce that fat pad under your chin and restore your youthful jawline.
Your clothes will fit better and your confidence will soar.
You can see the stunning results that Dr Nyla achieves in before and after pictures here.
What happens to the treated fat cells?
The treated fat cells are flushed away by the body’s natural elimination process.
Why does Dr Nyla choose Coolsculpting for fat reduction treatment at her clinic near Prestbury?
Other fat-freezing treatments are available but Dr Nyla and her clients love the fact that Coolsculpting is a non-surgical treatment with an impact akin to surgery. The excellent results that Dr Nyla achieves at her private clinic with this procedure are delivered with little discomfort to the patient and no need for recovery time.
Coolsculpting is the only FDA approved fat freezing treatment and its unique Freeze Detect Technology prevents the cooling process from chilling your skin rather than the fat cells. Fat-freezing procedures without this feature can cause cold burns or even ulcers.
Dr Nyla is proud to be the only Diamond Premier Clinic for Coolsculpting outside London and the only UK clinic to offer Coolsculpting that can treat four areas simultaneously – quad sculpting.
How does Coolsculpting compare with other fat-reducing treatments?
Coolsculpting using controlled cooling is Dr Nyla’s preferred treatment but other methods of fat reduction are available.
Radio frequency waves and ultrasound, either singly or in combination, can be effective at reducing the appearance of stubborn fat by bursting or shrivelling the fat cells. However, the damaged fat cells remain in the body whereas with FDA-approved Coolsculpting treatments the cells are then naturally processed and removed from the body entirely.
Will I have a consultation before having Coolsculpting near Prestbury?
All Dr Nyla’s clients have a thorough consultation before starting Coolsculpting treatments.
Although FDA-cleared Coolsculpting is a very safe procedure, Dr Nyla always checks your general health and makes sure that you are a good candidate for fat freezing.
The procedure and the way that it uses controlled cooling will be explained and you will have plenty of time to ask questions. Dr Nyla and the team understand that even non-surgical procedures can be and they will be able to reassure you about any concerns you may have.

What happens during Coolsculpting treatment?
Coolsculpting is administered using a handheld device whilst the client is lying on a couch. The head of the fat-freezing device incorporates a gel pad to ensure a good seal and to prevent your skin from becoming too cold. Skin is sucked into the device and the fat cells are frozen.
The session will last about an hour depending on the size of the area to be treated.
The treated area will be massaged at the end of the session to promote the break up and removal of the damaged fat cells.
Dr Nyla and the team at her clinic near Prestbury are very practised at delivering Coolsculpting and will ensure that you feel comfortable and relaxed throughout. Some patients use the time to catch up on emails or watch a film
You can find a video of the Coolsculpting procedure here .
Does Coolsculpting hurt?
Our patients near Prestbury report that they experience a cold sensation as controlled cooling does its work and that they can feel a pulling sensation as suction pulls the skin into the device. However, the procedure is not painful.
How will I feel after treatment?
Sometimes the treatment may leave you with a temporary tingling sensation. Controlled cooling may make your skin look swollen and red for a while.
These effects are temporary but we are always available for advice if you have any concerns.
Which parts of the body can treated?
Coolsculpting can be used to address stubborn fat on all areas of the body. Dr Nyla is an expert at creating a smoother and slimmer body silhouette for her clients.
Clients at our clinic near Prestbury love Coolsculpting for the way it can melt away fat under the chin restoring a more youthful profile without the need for surgery.
How many Coolsculpting treatments will I need?
Typically our clients have one to three sessions. The number required will be confirmed when you have been assessed at your initial consultation.
When will the benefits of treatment appear?
You may see a difference in the treated areas after your first treatment. Certainly after three weeks or so you will begin to notice the areas of concern starting to look smoother as the layer of fat begins to break down.
How long does the body’s natural elimination process take to flush away the treated fat cells?
This process can take as long as six months during which time the appearance of the treated areas will continue to improve.
Are the results of Coolsculpting permanent?
The fat cells that have been removed cannot grow again and as long as you maintain a healthy lifestyle, you will maintain your new body shape.
However, it is possible to regain weight after Coolsculpting as some fat cells will remain and a good diet and exercise will matter as much as before treatment.
Can Coolsculpting help with weight loss?
Dr Nyla advises her clients against considering Coolsculpting as a way to achieve weight loss.
Coolsculpting is designed to target stubborn areas of fat that persist despite a healthy overall weight and a careful approach to diet and exercise.
Is aftercare required after fat reduction treatment?
Aftercare is minimal but by taking care of yourself and your body you can ensure optimum results.
- Slight bruising can be an issue after fat freezing so it will help with healing if you avoid using anti-inflammatory medication such as Ibuprofen for a couple of weeks after each treatment session
- You should use lukewarm water only when washing the treated area for the first few days. Make sure your hands are clean before touching the area.
- Dr Nyla advises her clients to use serum antioxidants promote healing and soothe the treated area. She also suggests using moisturising products containing Hyaluronic Acid as the treatment can make the skin feel dry.
Drinking plenty of water will help your body to remove the treated fat cells - Makeup brushes, applicators and fingers could all cause infections and affect skin health so it is best to avoid makeup for a couple of days post-treatment.
