What are lip fillers?
In the hands of a skilled practitioner, lip fillers are a straightforward, quick, and effective beauty treatment. The lips are a significant feature of the face but, few of us inherit luscious lips while others find that age makes the lips thinner. Lip fillers give the lips more volume, making them plumper and super hydrated at the same time. Fillers can also be used to balance uneven or bumpy lips. Lip fillers can even turn the corners of your mouth up rather than down, making you look a lot more cheerful and upbeat!
A gel form of hyaluronic acid, a natural substance found in the body, is injected into the lips during the procedure. It is crucial that your practitioner, like Dr Nyla, has the skill to decide precisely how much filler you need and where to inject it to give you the result you want.
Do filler injections hurt?
Dr Nyla and her team will ensure that your lip filler treatment is as comfortable as possible by using skin-numbing creams if necessary. Dr Nyla’s extensive injectables experience means that she can give fillers quickly and with minimal discomfort, and your treatment will only take about 20 minutes. Fillers will immediately give your lips more volume, and this will get better over time as the slight bruising settles down.
Why Dr Nyla for lip augmentation in Manchester?
Dr Nyla Raja (MBCHB, MRCGP, DFFP, DPDermatology, BACD) is a qualified medical doctor. She has performed over 15 000 lip filler treatments so that you can be very confident about both her experience and expertise!
Her reputation for excellence has attracted a celebrity clientele, and the demand for her services has led to the opening of clinics in Birmingham, Mayfair in London, and Liverpool in addition to her original Cheshire clinic. All clients – celebrity or not! – receive a very warm welcome at the beautiful state-of-the-art Alderley Edge clinic, which serves clients from the Manchester area and the whole of the North West.
What are the risks of lip enhancement?
In the hands of an unskilled aesthetician, lip fillers can produce disappointing or worse results. Sterile equipment must always be used to avoid the risk of infection, and the filler used must be of the highest quality available. A well-trained and experienced practitioner will know how to inject your lips with filler to ensure a smooth result instead of the bumpy, uneven lips that Dr Nyla often sees in clients coming to her clinic to have their lip filler dissolved. The effects of poorly injected lip fillers can be long lasting and Dr Nyla has been so disturbed by the number of patients she is seeing with this problem that she is offering free treatment to women aged 18 to 20 who can’t afford to have the situation sorted out.

What is the treatment if lip fillers go wrong?
All lip fillers break down over time, but if you are very unhappy with the way that your lips look or the procedure has damaged your lips, you may not want to wait for nature to take its course. Dr Nyla can make the breakdown process happen more quickly by injecting your lips with an enzyme called hyaluronidase. Her medical expertise and skill will ensure that your lips are returned to normal as soon as possible.
