treatment overview

With the ARTAS iX, hair loss doesn’t have to be a loss for long.

At Doctor Nyla, we understand that hair loss can have a profound effect on your appearance, confidence and self-esteem, making you look older, less attractive and therefore cause anxiety about whether this will only get worse. We value client happiness and safety above all else, we are proud to offer ARTAS iX – a highly-advanced hair restoration procedure that integrates robotic precision with 3D modelling to ensure your new hair looks as natural as it looks wonderful. Perfectly distributing hair follicles without damaging your hair, the minimally-invasive procedure takes a mere 5-8 hours, with results noticeable within 2 months. Permanent and continuously growing, your new hair will be luscious and long in no time, allowing you to style, cut and dye it to your own unique taste. With such fantastic results, it’s no wonder that our clients come from areas as varied as Manchester, Glasgow, Birmingham, Swansea and even Brazil, as well as Liverpool, to get the results for themselves.

Our clients’ hair loss stories have many causes. Hormone levels, genes and autoimmune diseases have all played a part, as have stress, illness and childbirth.  Ageing is also a major factor – with hair thinning and growth patterns changing the older we get. The causes are all different, but the best solution remains the same. The ARTAS iX can give you your hair back in a safe and efficient manner that restores your outer beauty and inner happiness.

Doctor Nyla is one of only three clinics in the world to offer this fantastic treatment, due to our fantastic reputation and our status as one of the biggest clinics outside of the UK. Having recently won ‘Top Cosmetic Clinic Award in the UK 2019’ further highlights our achievements and our high level of service and care.

Restore your confidence with a proven hair restoration technique that will make you forget you ever experienced hair loss issues in the first place. Get in touch today to find out more.

Why You Should Choose ARTAS Over Other Hair Restoration Treatments?

what is this treatment image

Other methods of hair restoration include manual handheld devices such as the NeoGraft, and FUE techniques.

The NeoGraft operates by using air pressure and suction to remove hair follicles from the scalp. This treatment is done entirely by the surgeon’s hand, so success is wholly dependent on their skill level, leaving more room for human error. The surgeon also has to ensure that harvesting happens at a natural distance apart and that the hair follicles do not get transected. With ARTAS, there are mapping and automatic safeguards in place to prevent this from happening, and the advanced robotic arm ensures precise graft dissection.

ARTAS can extract up to 1,000 grafts per hour – which is much faster and far more precise than a human hand. In fact, we are able to safely transfer over 3000 follicular grafts in a single session. This is the equivalent to over 5000 hairs, which will cover bald spots of all shapes and sizes.

With manual FUE techniques, excellent hand-eye coordination,  motor skills and physical durability due to the length of the procedure is required, with mistakes more likely to occur.

We exclusively use the ARTAS iX machine due to its robotic precision, and high client satisfaction rate. Because ARTAS is minimally-invasive, requiring no surgical incisions or stitches, recovery time is considerably faster than other hair transplant methods. Our clients are able to return to their daily activities 2 days post-treatment.

The Benefits of ARTAS Hair Transplants

aftercare With conventional hair transplants, scarring is quite common and noticeable, especially when paired with popular hairstyles like the crew cut, buzz cut, side part and the quiff. However, because ARTAS uses a minimally-invasive procedure, it doesn’t cause linear scarring, and therefore, when your hair starts to grow in, you can wear any hairstyle that you like.
aftercare Because ARTAS uses your natural hair, the grafts blend in well, and you don’t have the issues that come with wearing a toupee, having a comb over or using hair that comes from other people. Since it looks like your natural hair, it has the same colour and texture as the other hairs on your head, and therefore, blends in perfectly.
aftercare ARTAS hair transplants will last a lifetime, because the results are permanent, and are not susceptible to issues such as male-pattern baldness. You’ll see noticeable results after 2 months, and then, thicker hair will start growing around 6-9 months later, with continued growth over time.
aftercare No longer will clumps of hair fall out in the shower. No longer will you feel embarrassed about bald spots. With ARTAS, you’ll have a newfound sense of confidence and self-esteem.
aftercare Medispa Cheshire was the winner of Top Clinic Of The Year 2019, and Doctor Nyla and her team have performed over 65,000 successful non-surgical treatments. A specific protocol is set at the Medispa Cheshire to ensure the safety and quality when treatment is administered by our medically trained doctors or nurses.
aftercare We are also the only clinic in the UK to offer ARTAS iX - a true testament to the faith and trust that ARTAS has in us.

Our Process

Doctor Nyla understands how important hair is to everyone’s appearance, and how overwhelming it can be for clients when they start to lose it.  Alopecia and male pattern baldness are certainly no joke, and neither is thinning hair or bald spots. Therefore, Doctor Nyla ensures that every client looking for a hair transplant procedure understands the benefits that ARTAS iX can give them, allowing them to make an informed decision about whether it’s right for them.

Before your treatment, the hair surgeon will sit with you and discuss your hair loss concerns, pattern, medical history and family history, as well as what you want from this treatment. They will then go into detail about what ARTAS involves, expected results and the impact it will have.

Should you feel it’s right for you, we’ll then use the ARTAS Hair Studio to create your customised hair restoration solution as a 3D model. This simulates your results, showing the number of grafts needed and the optimal hairline design to meet your requirements.

Then, the high definition stereoscopic vision system utilizes ARTAS Artificial IntelligenceTM algorithms to identify and select the best hair follicles for harvesting. Hair is intelligently harvested with robotic precision to preserve the natural look of your donor area.

A customised hairline is then designed using the ARTAS System’s Recipient Site Making technology – creating the perfect distribution for harvested hair follicles that avoids damaging natural hair.

Your hair is then transplanted into thinning areas, taking around 5-8 hours in total. We know this may seem long, but don’t worry – we do everything we can to ensure your comfort throughout the day, and it gives you a chance to have some much-needed me-time too.

Results do vary dependent on age, medical history and lifestyle, but many clients do experience noticeable results after 2 months. Thicker, permanent and more luscious hair starts growing around 6-9 months later, with continued growth over time.

We always make the following recommendations when it comes to ARTAS aftercare:

aftercare Initially, there may be a little tightness and soreness around and in the donor area, so taking some over the counter medication can lessen any discomfort you may feel and aid the healing process.
aftercare Three days following treatment you can start washing your hair again. However, for the first wash post-treatment, do so gently with lukewarm water, being careful not to add too much pressure to the newly-implanted follicles. Do not use hair dryers for two weeks post-treatment.
aftercare The head should also remain uncovered for at least 3 days, and not be covered with a hat, helmet or wig.
aftercare In terms of exercise, avoid heavy lifting for 2 weeks, and saunas, steam rooms and sun beds for at least 3 weeks.
aftercare When it comes to styling your new locks, we’d suggest waiting at least 3 months, to give the hair follicles time to adjust. You can dye, cut or curl your new hair once the flakes around the roots have fallen off completely..

Are the results of ARTAS permanent?

Yes, the results are permanent! By using your own healthy, growing hair from the back of the head, we can give you results that will last a lifetime. The hairs from this area are not susceptible to conditions like male-pattern baldness, which is why they're so effective. For the best results, we suggest speaking to an expert to discover the causes for your hair loss, allowing us to develop an optimum course of treatment.

How Is Hair Transplantation With The Artas® System Different?

ARTAS uses advanced digital imaging and robotics to harvest follicular units. This includes the ARTAS Hair Studio, used to create a bespoke hair restoration solution as a 3D model, and the ARTAS Artificial IntelligenceTM that selects the best hair follicles for harvesting. Throughout your treatment, aspects such as hair position, angle and number of required hair grafts are carefully measured for the best results.

Will ARTAS Provide Me With Natural-Looking Results?

Transplanted hair will grow naturally in phases, with new hair noticeable three months post-treatment, which will continue to grow for up to a year. Because scarring (if any) is minimal and undetectable, and the treatment uses your hair as grafts, you are provided with natural-looking results that are subtle, yet stunning.

Does ARTAS Hurt?

To lessen any discomfort you may feel, we firstly apply a local anaesthetic before carrying out the treatment, to ensure your comfort and safety. Your head may swell during treatment, but this will dissipate within 1-3 days.

How long does it take to heal and recover after Hair Transplants?

As there are no surgical incisions, and no stitches are required, healing takes considerably less time than other transplants and surgical cosmetic procedures. Healing time is short, and you can get back to your daily activities 2 days post-treatment. We’ll also provide you with help and advice on how to minimise any discomfort you may feel, and how to take care of your newly implanted hair.

How long does the ARTAS iX Hair Transplant procedure take?

Depending on the severity of your hair loss and your specific goals, the procedure time does differ. However, hair transplantation from start to finish typically takes around 5-8 hours. Luckily, you are comfortably seated during the whole treatment and our team of professionals are there to make your time with us as enjoyable and carefree as possible. We’ll do our utmost to maintain maximum comfort throughout the day.

Should I cut my hair before the treatment?

Clients do need to shave their head pretreatment, as this allows us to use the ARTAS system to accurately visualise, track and harvest each follicular unit (the hairs to be extracted). During your consultation, we can provide you with more in-depth and tailored information for your specific treatment, and ensure you make the decision that’s right for you.
