Botox FAQs
-
How long does Botox last?
-
Results typically last between 3-6 months. Many patients schedule follow-up treatments to maintain the results.
-
Is Botox painful?
-
Most patients experience only minimal discomfort. The needles we use are extremely fine, and the treatment is quick, with no anaesthetic typically required.
-
When will I see results?
-
You’ll start to see results in as little as a few days, but optimal results will become more apparent around two weeks after your treatment. The effects can last up to six months, after which you may want to book a follow-up appointment.
-
Will I look frozen or unnatural?
-
When administered by an experienced practitioner, Botox should look completely natural. Dr Nyla’s technique preserves your natural expressions while smoothing unwanted lines.
-
Are there any side effects?
-
Side effects are generally minimal and temporary. Some patients experience minor bruising, redness, or slight swelling at injection sites, which resolves quickly.
-
What’s the best age to start having Botox?
-
The best time to start having anti-wrinkle injections varies from person to person, and when they start to notice dynamic lines (the wrinkles that appear through expression) appearing regardless of expression, even when your face is static. This age can depend on a range of factors, from your diet and lifestyle, smoking, sun exposure, stress, and more. Deeper lines and wrinkles are harder to smooth out with Botox injections, so when you first start to see these lines forming is the best time to explore Botox.
-
What is the Nefertiti neck lift?
-
Anti-wrinkle injections can be used to treat the horizontal lines around the neck, also known as ‘necklace lines’, and vertical ‘platysmal bands’, to tighten the skin on your neck for a more youthful appearance. This treatment is sometimes known as the Nefertiti neck lift.
-
What should I do post-treatment?
-
Make sure you adhere to the guidelines provided to you at your treatment. These include:
- Use a gentle cleanser and warm (not hot) water to cleanse the face for 72 hours after your treatment, patting the skin gently to dry with a soft, clean towel. Make sure your hands are clean before touching the treated area.
- Antioxidant serums are recommended post-treatment as they help to heal the skin, reducing irritation and soothing the skin.
- Your skin might feel drier than normal for a few days after your treatment. Hyaluronic acid is the perfect ingredient for hydrating and restoring the skin.
- Avoid applying make-up for 24 hours after your procedure, and don’t apply make-up with a make-up brush, especially if it’s not clean.
-
Am I a good candidate for Botox?
-
If you’re noticing frown lines, forehead lines, crow’s feet, smoker’s lines, or deeper nasolabial folds, and want to soften and smooth these lines, anti-wrinkle injections can be an effective solution. At your consultation, a member of our team will discuss the areas you want to treat, and which treatment is the best option for you.

All About Botox
-
What is botox?
-
Also known as anti-wrinkle injections, neurotoxin, or botulinum toxin, Botox are naturally occurring proteins which block the nerve signals at the injection site. The injections contain a naturally occurring neurotoxin, botulinum toxin type A, which then prevents the muscle from over contracting which would otherwise lead to wrinkles and fine lines. Since the nerve signals in this area are stopped, the muscle can’t contract as tightly, so the wrinkles relax and soften for a more youthful look.
Your treatment will take around 15-20 minutes, and most of our clients say they experience only mild discomfort, if any at all, thanks to the incredibly fine needles we use. We’ve carried out over 65,000 procedures over the course of 18 years, so we’re highly skilled and experienced in administering Botox treatments in Cheshire and at our other clinic sites. Our team is able to consistently deliver amazing results for our clients, with natural, subtle results that are still impactful for a boost to your appearance and your confidence.

What can Botox treat?
-
For clients of all ages in Cheshire Botox is one of the most popular cosmetic treatments we offer, helping to restore the elasticity of the skin and rejuvenate your appearance. It’s commonly used to treat:
- Forehead Lines: Horizontal lines that develop from repeated facial expressions and natural ageing can be softened for a smoother, more refreshed appearance.
- Frown Lines: The vertical lines between your eyebrows (sometimes called 11 lines) respond exceptionally well to Botox treatment.
- Crow’s Feet: Fine lines radiating from the corners of your eyes can be reduced, creating a more youthful, rested look.
- Additional Treatment Areas: Botox can also be used for brow lifting, reducing a gummy smile, softening lines around the nose, and treating excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis).
-
Is Botox safe?
-
Botox has an outstanding safety profile when administered by qualified practitioners. At Dr Nyla’s clinics, we only use premium products and adhere to the highest clinical standards. During your consultation, we’ll review your medical history, discuss any contraindications, and ensure Botox is the right choice for you. All treatments are performed in a clean, professional clinical environment where your comfort and safety are the top priorities.
Disclaimer: Each Botox treatment includes a medical consultation which may or may not lead to the provision of a prescription.
